Craig is the Founder & Director of Apex Rugby Academy.
Having coached at a variety of clubs and schools across the country and worked with Edinburgh Rugby as a Performance Analyst, Craig believed that outside the regional and national age grade set up there were few opportunities where young rugby players could take their performance to the next level.
Furthermore, Craig quickly noticed that after a typical training session or match there was little time for players to analyse games accurately, develop their individual skills and educate oneself on how to form good habits on & off the pitch.
These experiences captured Craig’s imagination to start up Apex Rugby Academy and help develop young players’ performance.
Educated at Robert Gordon's College, Craig moved to the University of Stirling to complete his studies as a Physical Education Teacher. As well as obtaining a UKCC Level 2 Rugby Coaching Qualification, Craig is currently completing a Masters (MSc) in Sport Performance Coaching and an online Sports Psychology Course at the University of Derby.
Craig is the Head Coach of Men's Rugby at the University of Aberdeen & the 2nd XV Head Coach at Aberdeen Grammar Rugby, where he is working towards his UKCC Level 3 / Advanced Coaching Programme Course
"Rugby has always been a huge part of my life. It has given me memories, friends and opportunities that’ll last a life time. I know that unless a player is selected to represent their regional team or Scotland, there are few opportunities where players can take their performance to the next level. As I progress through my teaching & coaching career, I want to use rugby as a vehicle to create good people. Our highly experienced and professional coaching team at Apex Rugby Academy are committed to fulfil this."
