OUR STORY

Apex Rugby Academy offers young rugby players high-quality, accessible opportunities to take their performance to the next level.

We aim to achieve this through our fun, engaging and inclusive rugby camps and skills clinics delivered by Scotland's leading professional players and coaches.

Here’s a little bit about our journey:

January 2021

Whilst all rugby was on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic Craig quickly noticed how this had a negative impact on young people’s overall well being.

With limited playing and training opportunities, there was a unique opportunity to press the reset button on youth rugby in Scotland and create a high-quality learning environment where young rugby players could take their performance to the next level.

Apex Rugby Academy was born.

July 2021

The first ever Apex Rugby Academy camp was held in July 2021 at Deeside Rugby in Banchory, Aberdeenshire with over 150 young rugby players from all over Scotland in attendance.

August 2021

Due to the nature of most training session being team based we quickly recognised that young rugby players across Scotland were not getting time or the expertise to take their skill set to the next level.

This was a concept that had never been introduced in Scotland so in August 2021 we hosted the first skills clinic with Scottish Rugby’s Skills Coach Pete Horne in Glasgow.

Since then we have ran skills clinics with 30 + professional rugby players and engaged with 1250 + young rugby players from across Scotland.

October 2021 - Current

After the success of our first rugby camp in July 2021 we expanded rapidly all over Scotland and have since held holiday rugby camps in over 13 different locations including Aberdeen, Hawick, Strathaven, Linlithgow & Glasgow.
