PERFORMANCE SKILLS CLINICS
Due to limited training time throughout the week players sometimes miss out on developing their individual skill set. Through our skills clinics we aim to help players take their performance to the next level through our 3 step process of Task, Context & Variable.
TASK: Skill
CONTEXT: Game Situation / Relevance
VARIABLE: Progression - Skills Under Pressure
The skills clinic format maximizes time on task for our players to develop individual habits and skills through repetitive practice within a challenging environment.
Our coaching team consists of Cammy Scott (Edinburgh Rugby Fly Half), Murdo McAndrew (Former Clermont, Edinburgh Rugby & Scotland U18, U20 & Club XV Scrum Half) & Andy Cramond (Former RC Toulon & Scotland U20 Player).

FLY HALF TOPICS INCLUDE: Kicking Technique, Short Kicking, Long Kicking, Pass Selection & Tactical Awareness
FORWARDS TOPICS INCLUDE: Lineout, Decision Making (In pod of 3), Restarts, Breakdown & Pass Selection

Cammy Scott
Fly Half Skills Coach
Cammy currently plays for Edinburgh Rugby as Fly Half and has previously represented Scotland at U18, U20 & Southern Knights in the Super 6.
Cammy will be taking our fly half’s through a variety of topics including Kicking Technique, Short Kicking, Long Kicking, Pass Selection & Tactical Awareness.
Cammy regularly coaches with us at Apex Rugby Academy are we are delighted to have him on board once again.

Murdo McAndrew
Scrum Half Skills Cocah
Murdo has recently retired from playing rugby and now is a specialist scrum half coach working around Scotland
Murdo boasts an impressive rugby playing CV having represented Scotland U18, U20, Club XV, Edinburgh Rugby, Clermont Auvergne and a variety of Super 6 teams.
These experiences have equipped Murdo with the knowledge and understanding to help our scrum half’s take thier performance to the next level.

Andy Cramond
Forwards Skills Coach
Andy will be leading our forwards skills clinic programme covering a variety of topics including lineout, restarts, breakdown, pass selection and decision making in pods of 3.
Andy is a retired professional having previously played for Scotland U20, RC Toulon & Biarritz in France.
Closer to home, Andy is actively involved with the coaching set up at Edinburgh Academy & Accies RFC.
